Prep Your Gym Gear the Night Before
Lay out your gym clothes the night before for morning sessions. Prepare your gym bag the previous night to mentally commit to going. If you exercise after work, bring it with you.
Set a Schedule
Establish a consistent workout routine with specific days and times dedicated to the gym or set out which days you’re going before the start of the week. Treating it like an important appointment increases your commitment and reduces room for excuses.
Create a Motivating Playlist
Reserve listening to your favourite music for gym sessions. This can serve as an incentive to go, as you'll look forward to enjoying your preferred tunes while working out. We save our most motivating tunes for the toughest workouts.
Find a Gym Buddy
Partnering up with a friend can provide accountability and motivation. You'll be less likely to skip a workout when you know someone is counting on you to be there. Just be careful not to let the session turn into a talking shop and lose workout intensity.
Visualise Your Goals
Regularly remind yourself of the physique and fitness goals you're working towards. Reword your approach to going, rather than saying “I have to go”, try “I get to go”, “I get closer to accomplishing my goals”
