A lot can happen in a short span of time! I took these photos at the end of a 20-week fat loss programme where the aim was to get as lean as possible at a gradual and manageable calorie deficit whilst maintaining muscle and some social life...

It was important that progress wasn't at the complete detriment to my performance and focus at work and likewise not to completely remove the ability to enjoy meals out. However, small sacrifices and prioritisation of time towards goals is still imperative. For example, it was a non-negotiable to average 3-4 workouts per week and to ensure a calorie deficit was maintained week on week even if the occasional day ended up in a large surplus.

In summary, progress isn't just about what you want to achieve; it's also about what you're willing to sacrifice, how you prioritise your time, and the dedication you bring to the table.

We all have different starting points... So set goals specific and realistic to you, whether reduced body fat, increased muscle, or an increase in strength (setting some specific lifting targets in a particular exercise like a squat, overhead press or getting your first pull-up).
